John Dunn: Choosing Lewis and Embracing a New Culture

I met the Lewis Division Manager and other team members during their onboarding, and I could just tell the culture was different.

John first heard about Lewis Services through an ex-coworker when the company was onboarding a large team for a utility he was serving with another contractor.
He was intrigued by "the new kid on the block" and decided to do some research. “I met the Lewis Division Manager and other team members during their onboarding, and I could just tell the culture was different. It intrigued me to want to be part of that team,” John recalls.
When a Supervisor position opened up, John applied, received an offer, and made what he calls “The Lewis Choice.” Reflecting on his time with Lewis, John says, “The culture here really is different. Until you’re here to experience it, it’s hard to explain. We live by the mantra ‘work at the speed of safety,’ and leadership doesn’t just talk about it—they act on it. That’s totally different from what I was used to at other companies.”
Now, with over three years at Lewis, John says he feels at home: “I have new General Forepersons who tell me they wish they’d joined Lewis sooner, and honestly, that’s exactly how I feel.” Check out other #LewisChoice videos here and subscribe to our #LewisChoice channel!
